The Farm

Bethlehem Cloister has been the site of a holistic sustainable living farm since 1985. Now a dedicated Monastery, the Friends still raise most of their own food and participate in rare breed conservation raising Cotswold sheep and Buff Orpington chickens. They also raise a few dairy goats for milk and cheese, and bees for raw honey. All livestock is pasture raised and organically and humanely managed. The Friends produce their own hay for winter feeding.

Vegetables and herbs are also grown and specialty herbal tinctures are available for purchase along with wool, yarn, eggs, raw honey and milk-based soaps which are also available to purchase at the Monastery Store.

The farm enables the Friends to be, in part, self-supporting and provides an opportunity for visitors and pilgrims to experience stewardship and spiritual connection with God through the wonders of the natural world.
